i just got the picocalc and after i assembled it, i turn on the power on button, and the screen light on, but i cant read what it displayed, i can see 2 small crack in the corner of the screen. may need a replacement of the screen.
刚组装完,发现屏幕不能正常显示,重新安装屏幕排线也不行,发现屏幕内屏角落有两条裂纹,怀疑屏幕坏了,需要更换,求助!
You’ll want to contact CPi on help@clockworkpi.com to tell them. Include the order number.
May be good to contact (or CC) alex@clockworkpi.com as well, since he tends to respond quickly. He may ask for more details and/or a picture as proof, but you’ll likely be sent a replacement.
Sadly, I’ve now joined the collection of PicoCalc owners with a cracked screen. I’ve been very careful every time I open the case to change modules. I’ve probably done that close to a dozen times now, swapping the Pico, Pico2W, Waveshare ESP32-S3-Pico, and Luckfox Lyra in and out to test various firmware and things.
But when I reassembled with the Lyra in the first time, I guess I wasn’t careful enough. I always take my time and check to make sure the board is seated and doesn’t seem to have any “give”. This last time seemed as good as the others, but apparently the screen wasn’t perfectly aligned and now I have a crack in the bottom right corner. There’s also a line going across the top of the screen. It’s invisible with the display off. The device still works, aside from the display issue.
I’m going to contact Alex and see if I can get a replacement. But I’d advise everyone to be extremely careful, and maybe don’t swap modules often. While it’s possible to swap them out, the risk is high that the screen won’t be seated perfectly and might crack.
(I guess, as someone else suggested, the solution really is to buy multiple PicoCalcs.)

I have changed boards found it a little hard to pull out the pico and push new one in. I think i gonna have to be extra careful.
Damn, mine is also broken. You have to be extremely careful with it.
I have wrote a email to Alex. I think I have to take a break from this device until the screen arrives.
one gives break
one takes break
Thank you for your wise words!
Me too, bro. I’m gonna contact Alex for replacement. The screen seems to be very fragile.
I highly recommend putting three strips of electrical tape on the screen to secure it into place.
