Hi, will you be sending out confirmation email before shipping? I placed order but I only have receipt from Paypal and no email from clockworkpi

There will be more DevTerms available after the preorderers get theirs, right?

You’ll get an email when we have the tracking number.

Okay! What about A-0604? That’s the one I was gonna get.

that’s probably not really feasible to know for sure right now. we havent even completed the shipment of preorders or manufacturing of the A04xx units, so i cant imagine anyone knows when more stock gets built.

I might just buy a CM3 version then and upgrade later. Will the cores be sold separately?

Of course. All parts will be in stock.

Is it possible to add a CM4 to CM3 model in the future?

Out of curiosity, is it true that you’re also investigating x86 cores for the future? If so, what OSes are you envisaging on there - Linux only, or will they be capable of running Windows?

Just thinking how cool a Zen core would be in a DevTerm, with Windows 11 running on it.

The CM3 and CM4 do not use the same connection at all. You can’t connect a CM4 without an adapter that is most likely to not fit in a DevTerm. So to put a CM4 they would need to make a new base board just for the CM4, so it is mostly unlikely.

But we could upgrade with the other cores later? Also, what is a typical use case for the DevTerm? Is the shipping really 60 days? That’s fine but I am moving in about that time and want to pick the right address. Thanks!

60 days? Had no idea it would be that long - I ordered in February and from what I’ve seen here it’s looking like it’ll be February again before it arrives.

that’s just what I am seeing when I go to the store and look to order now.

Do note that ClockworkPi is fulfilling the order shipment for the pre-order customers at the moment, and I believe that 60 day is more of a “timeframe” (?) rather than exact number; it could be earlier or much later, depending on the circumstances of how fast the pre-ordered devterms move and reach the said customers.

One of the clockworkpi rep can probably fill you on this one soon, but I say don’t pull the trigger first.
See how it pans out, the team’s still ironing out issues regarding the shipping schedule (from what I can see this is the main meat of the issue now).

ordering it now vs ordering it when it’s actually in stock isn’t much of a difference, especially when you’re in the possibility of moving to a new location as you mentioned in your post.
