HackerGadgets AIO Board Package

The service doesn’t stop until that browser tab closes. I have the service start and stop because if it’s running it takes full control of the SDR and nothing else can use it.

Rex,

Thanks for a great build, I received my uConsole in June and my AIO board shortly after. I upgraded to an RPI CM5 16gb/64gb EMMC and installed the Bookworm image. The only application that I have not been able to get working Has been SDR++ Brown. The app launches and when I press the Play/Stop button I see RF activity but the volume control button is greyed out and the volume slider is unavailable. Sound works fine in all other applications. Also in the FFT window there is no VFO Line at selected frequency. I am unable to change The modulation type in the Radio Module. The WFM is selected and not others can be checked. Squelch cannot be checked.

Here is a short video showing the issue. https://youtu.be/\_W3qbHcx1tY?si=jLClYKljcBuuHpjZ

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

davkenrem

I get video unavailable from the YouTube link. Can you post a screenshot?

see that checkbox next to radio? turn that on, it will turn on the radio sink which turns the received signal into audio

Just to follow up on this, I was experimenting with running gpsd, for time sync/NTP purposes, and I discovered that not only is PyGPSClient unable to connect to the GPS whilst gpsd is running, but even once I stop gpsd, something about how it leaves the GPS breaks things, and whilst PyGPSClient can connect, it never gets any satellites.

The above gpsctl command successfully resets the GPS module, and PyGPSClient starts working again with no reinstall needed.

I have received my board. Thank you! All features I have tried worked. Thanks especially for including the RTC battery as it would have been inconvenient for me to acquire.

I expect im blind and someone else has found/fixed this, but i received my AIO board today and all is well except lora. I’m running REX’s image with a CM5. everything tested and working via the hackergadgets guide. but if i add the dtparam=spi=on, dtoverlay=spi1-1cs the lcd does nothing more than start the backlight.

anyone encounter this before and have a solution because my searching/etc isnt finding anyone else with this

i’ve confirmed my config.txt is correct, even attempted using a prebuilt with the exact same results.

Did you install my package as per the instructions in the first post or did you set it up using the guide on the hackergadgets site?

This post is for my package that installs and configures the AIO board.

i didnt see yours but i resolved the issue. “dtparam=spi=on” was the problem for CM5. omitting it things are now up and running as expected.

really should have come and looked for your instructions… could have saved me an afternoon of peacmealing all the different bits

Trying to decide if I have bad hardware here. My GPS data stream appears to be corrupt, and the LoRa can’t find nodes anymore. RTL-SDR is the only thing that works on this board. Should I seek a replacement, or is this a software issue?

Output from /dev/ttyS0 at 9600 baud:

Thinks I’d do, check for any damage on the board, make sure it and the antennas are seated correctly. Try a fresh image on a second SD and install this package again and test.

Looks like it’s related to a gpsd socket. If I start the gpsd service (then stop it), the feed goes corrupt. Has anyone successfully configured GPSD against this device yet? (FWIW, I’m about to deep dive through the forum to find out…)

I am unable to select my device from the dropdown menu in SDR++ Brown

It just reminds greyed out, I’m on a fresh install of bookworm.

I have tried to reinstall Hacker gadgets AIO board package & get these errors

tar1090 also just brings me to a 404 page

I’m sure I’ve done something incorrect, please advise:)

Is Lora and GPS working? Post the output from lsusb

LoRa & GPS are not working , it indicates LoRa in meshtastic but does not have signal

Rtl_test

lsusb

You will only get a signal when your device makes contact with another node. Meshtastic is working and you GPS is working. The SDR is not showing up in the USB devices though.

I’d take the expansion card out check for any damage and reseat the card and test again. If the SDR still doesn’t show up under lsusb you might need to contact @vileer for support.
