HackerGadgets AIO Board Package

are you on the cm4 or 5. the cm4 uses ttyS0 and the CM5 uses ttyACM0. did you install this package to configure the device? if so open pygpsclient and try to connect.

on CM4. but no ttyS0 found.

yes installed the package. What does it do to configure the device?

for gps and the cm4 it removes console=serial0,115200 from cmdline.txt and installs pygpsclient.

Hey Rex,

Just wanted to give you an update — the install is now working fine on the new 6.12.44-v8+ kernel version.

I also had to add ā€œnon-free-firmwareā€ to the Kali sources before it would install properly. After that, both ā€œbrcmfmac-nexmon-dkmsā€ and ā€œfirmware-nexmonā€ went through without any issues, and monitor mode is now working as expected.

Thanks again for keeping these builds alive — really appreciate all the effort you put into this!

I am looking for a way to turn my screen off while I am using the uConsole as a repeater. Have looked up several ways to set this up and none seem to work. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Read through this whole thread before you add the script. You might need to do thing different depending on what DE you are using.

I use this method and just tap the power button to turn off and on my screen.

I just was looking for a hard solution for an easy problem. I just used the screen dimmer keys and turned it down all the way. My small meshtasic node won’t reach my local mesh but the uConsole will so I end up using it as a repeater when I am just relaxing at home. I just didn’t want to kill my screen. Will have to look at your suggestions later.

I just received my full kit.

Time to get busy.

Someone please tell me the right order of the antenna washers. I hate it when the antennas don’t sit properly.

since you have the antenna board, you don’t really need the side antenna

Yes, that I understand but I want to know the order of these washers.

I’m sure they are all for the WiFi antenna

Small note here. If you’re using Trixie, hwclock is now part of the util-linux-extra package, which you will need to install before trying to issue sudo hwclock -w.

Caught me out, thought I’d help others who might trip over this one

Thanks! I’ll actually add that package to my Trixie image. That should be something that is pre-installed.

I am pretty sure these are all for the side antenna connector, which I initially put the long SDR antenna on, but I’ve now removed the side antenna SMA connector as I have all the four antennas along the top and don’t currently plan to use the side opening.

Hi Rex. Love your work. Been running a fresh load of your ClockworkPi-ParrotSecurity-6.12.34 image, and tried to load your hackergadgets-uconsole-aio-board package. It will install Meshtastic, PyGPSClient and tar1090. SDR++ Brown is missing. Meshtastic and PyGPSClient are working. However tar1090 will not launch. I also am unable to verify RTC because it appears you can’t set or edit the time or date. The Time and Date Manager in your build of Parrot is locked out. It opens, but nothing can be changed. Thank you for any help you can provide, and do provide with your distros and packages for everyone! You are very much appreciated!

I’ll have to check it out this weekend.

Has anyone been able to setup sdr-trunk on the uConsole? I have tried to load a few versions and can’t get it to work.

If you are running my Debian image just sudo apt install sdrtrunk I’ve already compiled and packaged it and put it in my repo.
