looks like im getting the same issue on ParrotOS. no sdr++brown and TAR1090. I did got the RTC working. I did a reinstall, tried downloading the SDR++Brown directly (and solo) on git still didn’t work
Right now, my package only works on Debian Bookworm and Trixie. I might be able to get some time to get it working on parrot too next week.
parrot looks like it has some dependency errors so can’t run sdr++ brown. I’ll look into that to next week.
ah, thanks for the update! in any case that SDR++brown doesn’t work out any alternatives you can recommend?
You could try the regular SDR++ sdrpp in my apt repo but I think it will have the same issue.
looks like it. yeah. ̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶c̶h̶e̶c̶k̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶d̶u̶a̶l̶ ̶b̶o̶o̶t̶ ̶p̶o̶s̶t̶ ̶i̶ ̶s̶a̶w̶ ̶e̶a̶r̶l̶i̶e̶r̶.̶ ̶ looks like its a pain in the butt.
Hi Rex, forgive me if I’m bringing up a topic you’ve already covered. I installed the version of Parrot you created on my uConsole (thanks again, it’s my favorite OS), but among the myriad of posts out there, I’m a little confused about installing applications related to the HackerGadgets AIO card. Can I replicate what you published in this post in Parrot, or is there something different?
I built the package for bookworm and Trixie. I hear it doesn’t install on parrotos currently. I currently don’t have a lot of time to spend on the uConsole as I’m looking for employment. I do have plans to make the package work on parrot and Kali though. So manual install is the best way to try and get it working.
Are you telling me that I have to install the apps individually, as you suggest in your post? I’ll try to do that.
I hope you find a job soon… although I think that someone as capable as you won’t have too much trouble.
Some apps might work, some you might have to install then do the configuration yourself. I think the stuff that doesn’t work is mainly config or the apps desktop shortcuts not being where parrot wants them.
Thanks!
Has anyone had any luck getting the board to work with the A06 board? Everything else on my uConsole works (SDR++ is even loaded properly), but when I install the card it doesn’t even boot - it just sits there with the power light on.
Oh, well that’s a bummer, I just ordered it. ![]()
Oof, i seriously doubt it. The A06 is honestly not used that much from what i gathered here on the forum, and not supported by most common images either.
I guess theoretically you might be able to get it working if you find all drivers and install everything manually etc, but thats way beyond my (current) Linux level.
I would personally just get a Raspberry compute module.
the a06 might not be pin compatible. i know you have to cover some contacts for it to work with the radxa cm5.
That actually helps, that at least gives me something to follow up on.
I finaly powerup everything. First start with Trixie, but run with issue try to install the package.. so switch to bookwork (rex image), and after run the package, all app there !
SDR : work’s fine, and i can ear something (as expected)
TAR1090 : i was able to see one plane (i’m in my house.. so lucky to have received something)
RTC : working !
PuGPSClient : i only see 1 SAT (78)… nothing else. The signal goest to the middle of the screen. I let it run for hours in case in need to download something first from the SAT (usually happen on a device that didn’t connect for a while)
How do i make it work ? I follow the CM5 instruction, and selec the second serial port (i also test the first ,and last.. and of course, nothing appear on the status screen). I order the AIO with Antenna kit !
Lora : next thing to test ! I will look here how to install it and test it !
Did you install pygpsclient using my package or from GitHub or pip?
Cm4 or 5?
My package sets everything up and should work. Check gps u.fl connectors to ensure proper connection.
What didn’t work on Trixie?
I try to install the full AIO, and notice fiew error.. so i follow the easy path.. re-image the card with Bookwork instead.
SUDO APT update / upgrade end up with error (no error with Bookworm). Didn’t pay attention on the error, just figure out re-flash the card will be easier approach.
I will double-check the connector.. as i notice some issue with the trackball, i unscrew fiew thing to check if i got it wrong install.. but that didn’t resolve the issue (moving painfull.. click not doing anything).. so i use a mouse instead ! But as i notice a solide GPS 78 green rectangle, i was assuming the antenna got something.. but not everything. My phone near the device received more satelite, so position of the device may not be an issue..
The reboot seem not working.. But shutdown yes (so i push the power, and came back OK)
I try to uninstall the package, and re-install.. nothing.
And notice that Lora seem install too, but local host not showing anything.
I check the DOC linked on the top of the thread, and there is reference to /etc/meshtasticd/config.yaml
but this file not exist…
Should re-flash the device and start over ? The Trixie was interesting (as it’s more recent).. so i may probably re-start there !
note : first boot end up with no screen. At first i see the text scrolling.. thant screen gone. So i force shutdown, plug an external monitor.. and do-it agait.. then i was able to see, with both screen. After that, it’s working
All my images on first boot, will boot resize the filesystem then reboot. Just wait for that to finish. Trixie should work fine and it is newer. I’ll flash a fresh Trixie image tonight and test.
The stock trackball sucks, I use this one.

If that listing doesn’t work for your country it’s Blackberry Trackball Model #EVQWJN007
For your reboot issue are you running a CM5 lite by chance? If so did you do the EEPROM edit?
Yes, i did those change with a Waveshare IO, before receiving the unit.. so was ready to slot in everything ![]()
Thnaks for the link.. i just purchase the trackball (5 of them)
I just re-flash the SD card with Trixie.. after boot.. i assume that i need to run the AIO installer (or it’s already installed ?) … maybe it’s there that i broke something…
You need to run the full command in the first post.
If you get an error can you screenshot it and post it here. I might just be able to fix it real quick.
