HackerGadgets' uConsole Upgrade Kit - adding NVME SSD(PCIe), RJ45 Ethernet and USB 3.0 to your Uconsole

Yes, any other PCIe devices with an M key should work.

None of the cards you mentioned will work. They are mini-PCIe devices, not NVMe PCIe. And some of them even not support PCIe.

The onboard wifi is still not available for the non-WiFi CM4/5. The onboard WiFi is communicate with the core board via SDIO interface, which the CM4/5 didn’t have.

The AIO V2 supports USB 3.0 and RJ45 Ethernet.

Amazing work, and thanks for all the super detailed responses.

Would you happen to know if the battery NVMe board is likely to remain available for sale for a while, or whether it’s a sort of one-time-preorder-single-batch project?

(The reason I’m asking is, I probably won’t get my uConsole before January. As a result I’m uncertain if I should wait with ordering one of your battery NVMe boards until then so I actually have the ability to test timely whether the unit I receive is working fine. Not that I expect it not to, but I guess mistakes happen. And it would be devastating if by then, your amazing project was no longer available.)

I will manufacture 120% quantity of the pre-order. But if the extra 20% sell out, it depended on the need to start another batch.

Done with discount code

AIO v2

Thanks

Sweet, it’s out! What’s the battery life like with a NVME drive? I’m a bit worried as Ive seen SSDs drawing 3-4W under load, getting close to what the Pi itself consumes!

Does the WiFi Adapter work with the non-aio board? Looks like it will be able to plug in to the internal usb c port but I’m assuming there will be no way to mount/connect the antenna?

When will the antenna kit be available again?

Order placed! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I have a couple questions. Maybe they have already been replied but I could find them:

- regarding the RTC connector: what type of battery can we use? Does the AIO V2 also have RTC like the V1?

- Do you plan to develop a new back cover with a door access for the battery (maybe this part that detaches can be different depending on the type of battery) and that would also allow us to use an heatsink with fan on the CM5?

It’s been resolved. My mistake.

Ordered!

It’s just a regular USB-C wifi adapter, you can plug it into any USB-C host.

You can mount it with the antenna mount kit or use some 3D print magic.

Next week. But the GPS antenna is changed to a new model.

The rtc connector is for the cm5 internal rtc. V2 also have rtc like v1.

No plan for back cover now.

To be honest, definitely shorter than only running with the computer module.

Will it be possible to add the antenna kit to my pre-order for the upgrade kit?

Hmm, would it still be possible to just boot up from SD card and not use the NVME? Does it draw much power idle?
I can imagine using ā€œSD Modeā€ when on the road, and the NVME at home.
