Anyone figured out the configuration for a 10,000mAH LiPo pouch battery yet?
What are the best 18650 batteries to get?
Iām glad you got it working.
Happy for you mate ![]()

After much trial and error I am still unable to get a NVMe drive working in my board. I have tried adding dtparam=pciex1_gen=3 to config.txt without luck and am so far at my witsā end I actually tried Debian to see if thatād make the drives work (no difference).
Iāve tried two drives so far; the PCI Gen 3x4 Western Digital SDBPTPZ-256G-1012 and the (Gen unmarked) Kioxia KBG40ZNV256G. Neither have worked. I guess the 2280 drive will go in my WiFi router to be used as a NAS and the 2230 drive will go in a keychain holder I have, but if I get another non-working drive my number of drives will exceed the number of devices I have that can use them, so now Iām nervous about wasting even more money.
Safer to get raspberry pi branded nvme. Itās specific built for CM4/5 and Raspberry Pi.
Iāve done some shopping around but Raspberry Pi SSDs seem incredibly expensive compared to used OEM SSDs which usually read fine in SMART anyway. My last two SSDs were 256GB/<$35 each but the Raspberry Pi branded 256GB NVMe drive is >$70 from Vilros - and somehow sold out at that price! Sometimes I still remember when a Raspberry Pi was a cheap computer optionā¦
If anyone could share a compatibility list itād help me out a lot. Otherwise I may just save until I know thereās an option that works. I wonāt be paying the Raspberry Pi tax out of principle.
This is the one iām currently using in my uConsole.
All prices of memory have spiked enormously. They say itās because AI businesses need a lot of memory.
Hej folks, does someone know if the AIO V1 is compatible with this new NVMe Core?
Yes it is. You just donāt get USB 3 speeds if you have a CM5.
Trying to enable the hackerGadgets WiFi card using your radxa image all updated see below. But not picking up any WiFi networks
I have fallen back to Rex Radxa CM5 image since its the one that lets me use LAN cable at least. I need to figure out how to enable the hackerGadgets WiFi card on this setup anyone have any ideas or have actually managed to get it working?
the script wonāt work because radxa doesnāt use pinctrl and even if it did the pin are different. youāll just need to figure out the new pin names and turn them on manually. or someone needs to rewrite the script for the radxa.
RPi 4, running bookworm, AIOv2. Was going through, learning how to get things powered on, etc. 10k mAh lipo. My board was fixed by Vileer before shipping and I can see the evidence that the resistor for the internal usb c was worked on.
when I got to the internal usb c WiFi adapter, powered the usb, tried to use it to connect to WiFi and the Uconsole shut down.
If I try to reboot, I get a short green flash on the power LED, then nothing. If I unplug and replug the battery, it turns on fine, but wonāt reboot if I shut it down again. I tried swapping to AIOv1 board, same problem. I tried swapping to default expansion board, powers on fine, even after shut down. Problem persists regardless of whether internal WiFi card is unplugged.
It seems like some sort of power management issue, āpower rails not collapsingā or something along those lines.
Any help would be appreciated! Iād love to be able to use the internal WiFi card, or even at a baseline just the AIOv2 minus the WiFi card, but it wonāt reboot without unplugging and replugging the battery.
Do you power the internal USB-C on at boot with the script?
Hi,
Maybe someone can help me. I have just installed a NVME/Battery , RJ45/USB-v/USB-a with CM5 lite 16Gb. I got the NVME working and boots perfectly. The problem is that when I put an SD card it still boots the NVME drive. I have to remove the NVME drive to boot from the SD. I have double checked the boot order on the EEPROM and it is fine. The other problem is that the USB-a from the expansion board is not working. RJ45 and USB-c works.
i love my upgrades, thank you, Vileer. NVME was effortless and the non-AIO RJ45 expansion adds so much.
One question⦠I have the lipo battery everyone recommends but as i was about to add the battery board (I bought the 18650 and bracket free options), I realized the AC1200 dongle i also intended to use (I just need a longer antenna cable) wonāt fit with a battery in? Thatās known and unavoidable right? Also the battery weight wont hurt the NVME will it?
@vileer
I have your Uconsole upgrade and half the AIOv2 kit yet waiting for the anennas and mount that have been stuck in a Chinese airport for a week
.
CM5 arrives tomorrow so I can at last switch on. Is it true that you can burn out the AIOv2 if antennae/cables are not connected ?. Will be trying to boot the latest Trixie from SD card initiallyā¦
radios can burn out when transmitting without an antenna connected, the only transmitter on the AIO board is the SDR Lora and that doesnāt try to transmit until you turn on the module and meshtastic
Makes sense⦠thanks. Might just remove the aio board till the rest arrives.
I purchased this module from your link, the WD SN740 model SDDPTQD-256G-1012, but it doesnāt seem to work in my console. Iāve tried both Arch and your Debian image but neither recognize it. Are you sure this is the right link?
