HackerGadgets' uConsole Upgrade Kit - adding NVME SSD(PCIe), RJ45 Ethernet and USB 3.0 to your Uconsole

I currently have this installed as a push button fan control.

@vileer I ordered the upgrade kit few days ago. Would still be possible to add the 'antennas mounting kit” for my order. Please let me know

I think I want this adapter board for the nvme drive. Couple of basic questions before I pony up:

  1. I can’t get an nvme with a heatsink or the back case won’t fit, correct? The back case still fits fine?
  2. With the modification of the eeprom, this will allow me to bypass the SD card and boot from said nvme? I did this with my Hackberry Pi and the results were noticably better.

That is all. Thanks!

You are never too old to learn something new.

Please tell me your order number.

If the height of the NVMe PCB + the heatsink is less than 5mm, it will fit, or it won’t.

Yes.

@Vileer You seemed to have missed my comment/question, so here it is again;

Hey @vileer I received your email with the invoice. All set. Thanks a lot :grinning_face:

Thanks! Gonna order it up!

@vileer

I asked you if you could combine my pre orders 4 days ago, 7 hours ago I asked again…

I’m sure you are (a) busy (man) and you may have missed it?

Thank you!

just an FYI about the nvme heatsinks, if your running an nvme drive at pcie gen2/3 and only one lane they won’t get very hot. I wouldn’t bother with a heatsink

you should try and sending him a direct message here or in reddit since the forums can get flooded with notifications.

Sorry, just missed your post. I can ship them together and refund one of the shipping fees. Or ship them together and add one more mounting kit. Please let me know which options you prefer and give me the order numbers. I wouldn’t check the forum every day. The best way to get in touch with me about the order is via email or the contact page on the webshop.

Hello Vileer!

No need to apologize, as said i’m sure you are a busy guy!

I have send you a e-mail!

Guys, will this battery fit? https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyozfcU

What kind of solution do you guys recomend for cooling a cm5 with this setup?

I have a m.2 heatsink slapped on the back cover and it helps quite a bit. I get no thermal throttling, max temps I get are 60 when I’m pushing the device hard. The case does get a little warm during that time but not to were it’s uncomfortable.

This is the one Rex mentioned earlier in this thread, if the dimensions are the same or smaller then yes

Unfortunately I cannot open this link in my country, that’s why I am asking

The battery Rex linked is
102mm x 58mm x 9.8mm
10000mAh

The battery you linked is
10mm × 55mm × 110mm
10000mAh

Your battery has one dimension larger than the linked battery. 110mm may be too long, I do not know if it will fit or not as I do not know the battery compartment size. I made a post just recently asking the compartment size. The link below shows the battery Rex linked installed in the uConsole battery compartment. It shows there is some extra room on that dimension, but exactly how much room is still unknown to me.
