fldigi is X11 optimized. It does not play well with Weyland.

Switch to X11 and the lag goes away.

This is the answer. I just got my uConsole - it ran reasonably smoothly on the stock build, updated it to Bookworm on a much larger mSD card. Browsers, FLDigi were dog slow. Getting off of Wayland fixed the issues.

Which audio stack are you running? PulseAudio or Pipewire? Do you have CAT control working over USB as well?

I grabbed the uConsole for the same reason - I have an FX-4CR I’d like to drive with it.
