Help! Neither uconsole nor devterm will boot with 128Gb micro sd, pre-flashed OS

Hi Clockwork Pi.

I’m having difficulty upgrading my Devterm, and uconsole, as follows:

  1. flashed OS onto Lexar 256Gb micro sd, just following the recipe. Removed 16Gb ssd card from Devterm, installed 256Gb - won’t boot. Tried it in my uconsole - won’t boot. Since I did everything right as usual, it must be the Amazon cards I got.
  2. Ordered PNY 128Gb micro sd card from Amazon, flashed per recipe - Devterm won’t boot with it, neither will the uconsole.
  3. Assuming it was the card again, I ordered a pre-flashed 128Gb card from vilros. Surely that would fix it - alas know. Neither Devterm nor uconsole will boot!

What am i doing wrong? please tell me i just need to press some reset button or short some jumpers or whatever…

Devterm and uconsole both have aarch64, Cortex-A53.

Best Regards, Mark

PS. I am embarrassed about my pompous username

Goodness! I have wasted so much time on this. Thank you for responding. If I may - will itbwork on a 256Gb card? What brand should I use? How do I get the image onto the card?

Sorry for the dumb questions - they are genuine though!

Best Regards,
Mark

Yes it should work with a 256GB card brand don’t matter.

Next question - sorry! I also ordered a microsd to usb adapter. I can see and open the bootfs and rootfs in the file manager. Can i copy over the drivers fron the devterm into the right directories on the vilros card? Do the same for my uconsole?
What are the files/drivers?

Best Regards,
M

You can, but it’s a little more involved then just copying over some files.

I’d suggest downloading one of the pre-made images made for the DevTerm. It will make life a lot easier.

Downloaded bookworm.xz.
Used 7-zip to extract.
Used some flasher I downloaded to flash to the Microsoft.
No boot on Devterm oe Uconsole.
Qsame result with Dragon.

Are there other steps?
A specific image I should use?
Do something different because aarc64 cortex-A53 could?
Best Regards,
M

  1. try to use official imager https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/ without unpacking
  2. for devterm you will need to modify config.txt file

do you have CM4 or CM5?

Aarch64 cortex-a53 could.
A06-D
4Gb

you have to use official image then: GitHub - clockworkpi/uConsole: This code repository offers downloads for the latest images of various uConsole models, along with kernel patches, firmware for the keyboard and 4G expansion module, hardware schematics, assembly instructions, and essential technical documents.

all other images supports only raspberry pi 3,4,5

Huh! That worked right away - thankyou!
