I just recently ran across the picocalc and love the concept. As someone who has been an appliance operator with computers and also a ham operator. I thought I might add that there is a project that utilizes a raspberry pi zero and pico to run a portable HF radio. The pico is used to control the touchscreen and the pi zero as the brains. I will include the links for the curious. I am sure a small board can be designed and a replacement back panel be printed.
