oh you have a CM4s try adding this to the [pi4] section of your config.txt to enable wifi/bt
dtoverlay=uconsole,hwi2c
I donât have a CM4s to test with just a CM3,4,5 there is a arch image that supports the CM4s in the forums.
whats up Rex, big fan of your work and grateful for your contributions to the community. I came across this image and Im excited to try it. I daily drive endeavour os which is also arch based, how do i go about getting that distro on my uconsole?
To get started you can flash a endeavoros image for the raspberry pi and then manually load my custom kernel and edit the config.txt to load the needed overlays. From there heâll need to adjust rotation for the screen.
You might be able to use one of the pkgbuilds for one of the arch images for the kernel.
not work with DevTerm CM3
Correct the DevTerm CM3 doesnât work with my images. As stated in the OP these images support the CM4/5 DevTerm and uConsole. They also support the CM3 in the uConsoles with the older display panel.
thank you
I have a DevTerm CM3 and uConsole A06 with 4G. Which images should I use for them?
Just the stock images. Iâll see about repackaging the stock CM3 DevTerm kernel and do a single bookworm release with that custom kernel held a 5.10 just for the CM3 DevTerm.
thank you for your contributions to the forum! Iâm using the CM3 on DevTerm but canât find new images to use. since the 4G expansion is adapted , Iâd prefer to use the A06 on the UConsole insteadâyet I still canât find updated kernel for that either. This is really frustrating for me.
support for the A-XX cores sucks. the best i can do for the CM3 DevTerm is make a updated Bookworm image with the old kernel. Youâll at least be able to use modern software and repos then.
I donât have high performance requirements, so I didnât rush to buy the CM4 or CM5. Now, it seems I might consider selling the A06 and look forward to the new image for the CM3.
May I ask how well your images support the DevTermâs printer and Uconâs 4G expansion card?
I didnât try it on with the CM3 but the printer did work with the CM4. Youâll just need to install the printer stuff.
I donât have a 4g card but others do have it working with the CM4/5 in the uConsole.
great! thank you for reply!
Wait. Arenât derivatives like EndeavourOS ARM and Manjaro ARM based on Arch Linux ARM? Whatâs keeping from starting from Arch Linux ARM, then adding their repositories?
Iâll give both methods a try, thanks
Does anyone having the micro-HDMI out working on this the manjaro build?
Is there a driver or config.txt line I need to add for it to work?
I havenât tried on Manjaro but you shouldnât need to do anything extra to get it to work. You can boot with the hdmi plugged in and see if you get the bootloader output on your monitor. If it doesnât display anything you might have a bad cable.
It works on your other builds I have tried like bookworm and ubuntu but it doesnât work on Manjaro for me. I donât get bootloader output either on bootup. Seem weird it would be a bad cable if it works on other builds?
Not sure why it wouldnât work with manjaro. You should see the boot loader no matter the os or no sd card at all.
