New PicoCalc Price

PicoCalc was $75.00 USD. Now it’s $79.00. Not a big increase and still worth it but still it’s a change to keep an eye on.

may be they’ve updated screen

(or included screen replacement into the price)

Bought a second and received it last week, so I im good for a while :slightly_smiling_face:

Not surprised they raised it. I’ve gotten two and haven’t seen any US tarrif demands, and I know the $800 de minimis was definitely gone for the second, so ClockworkPi is either built it into the price, or getting around it.

Not sure about anyone else but the one I ordered near the start of the whole thing was $100 total, to the west coast US. The initial price was $75 but there was a $25 shipping charge. No tariff stuff though, but that was before things really kicked off.

It’s still a very good price for the hardware, as long as you’re extremely careful with the screen. Sounds like a few screens might have even been damaged in shipping based on people’s posts, but it might also have just been the assembly issue that’s hit many of us. I’d be curious to see the stats on number of owners who had to get a replacement screen. I’d guess it was at least 50%, but maybe even a lot higher. I’m sure there are plenty of people who never made posts on discord or the forum about it, but hopefully most everyone realized they could get a replacement, and also realized they should tape it down or otherwise deal with it.

I’m guessing the reports of the devices shipping through Hong Kong are probably a way to minimize the tariffs. But apparently Clockwork is just paying for them. It would probably be worse (cost for them) if they shipped direct from China to the US. Probably also explains why it’s taking longer for PicoCalcs now, if they’re having to ship to multiple destinations along the way to save some money.

clockwork doesn’t build US tariffs into the price, EU people have always had to pay taxes when it crossed the border, you just got lucky your government screams a lot but hasn’t actually got the capability to handle the amount of packages coming in

They also raised the price for the uconsole
