Correct. Power is provided to the HG carrier board just like it is to the stock carrier board – through the odd-looking connectors at the top of the battery board.

there are two ribbon cables, one from the HG adapter to the aio board, that one carries the usb3.0 signals, and is optional for all other features of the board, you just have slower usb speeds.
And one from the HG adapter to the HG battery board, that one does the nvme signals and is required for that board to function.
Mine didn’t actually come with ANY ribbon cables, but that’s alright for now, it sounds like. I can start using it as-is. The adapter board SHOULD work (it didn’t boot with it so I had to switch back to the stock adapter board) without ribbon cables, so I may just not have seated it correctly, and can try that again later.
