New uConsole Display Issue

I have a new uConsole and I am having a issue with the built in screen. I am also new to the uConsole hardware. Everything else works just fine. I can plug a micro HDMI and use it that way but on the screen I get weird blocky horizontal lines.

I have tried all the physical troubleshooting I could find with no result. (Cable seated correctly, module seated correctly). I have 2 modules a CM4 lite and CM5 lite and both do the same thing.

I saw there was some issues with newer screens and driver compatibility, but I have tried all the patched images I could find and get the same result. Most of them from Rex. My screen has a December 2025 date on the back of it.

Using a monitor with the micro HDMI, I can move things around on the desktop and the built in screen shows vertical movement from horizontal movement and vise versa by default image settings. Not sure if that helps explain it. Rotating the screen via gui settings or config settings doesnt fix the display issue though.

Has anyone else ran into this issue that they havent been able to fix with a driver update or a different image?

CM4:

This is exactly what the new screen looks like with the old drivers

So far I have tried these from Rex:

  • ClockworkPi-Trixie-6.12.94
  • ClockworkPi-Trixie-lite-6.12.94
  • ClockworkPi-Ubuntu-24.04-6.12.67
  • ClockworkPi-Bookworm-6.12.67
  • ClockworkPi-Kali-6.12.67

I also saw where it was suggested try apt update and upgrade but it showed all packages were up to date on those images.

I am using the config how it comes with the images. Is there anything I should change in the config?

Im stumped on this one and open to any help.

Heres a picture of the back of the screen if it helps any:

I’m sure you’ve already done it, but make sure the ribbon cable is fully seated. If it’s still doing the same thing you might have a dispective display.

Yes I have reseated the cable a bunch of times just to make sure and its been the same every time.

I contacted Alex and hes helping me troubleshoot whats going on. Ill update if we can figure out anything.

I had some issues with dead pixels on my display, and I’d like to publicly thank the Clockwork team for their outstanding support.

Since my uConsole was still under warranty, they promptly sent me a replacement display. The new panel was manufactured in 2026, the connector appears to be the same as the previous one. and it has been working perfectly. So far, I haven’t noticed any obvious improvements compared to the previous revision—it simply solved the dead pixel issue completely, which is exactly what I needed.

I’d especially like to thank Alex  for being so efficient in understanding my problem and helping me through the entire process. My replacement screen literally traveled halfway around the world before arriving here in Brazil.

Thank you very much, Alex. You’re absolutely fantastic!

Update: I got with Alex and he was extremely helpful and sent me another screen. I popped the new screen in and it works great. It seems I just had a defective display. Thanks everyone.
