Output HDMI (external display)

I am trying to configure an external e ink display (dasung paperlike HD).
No plug and play is working as it is considered to be. Here is maybe the issue:
~$ xrandr -q
xrandr: Output HDMI-1 is not disconnected but has no modes
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 480, maximum 4096 x 4096
HDMI-1 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DSI-1 connected primary 1280x480+0+0 right (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm
480x1280 60.00*+

Could somebody provide some help?

I’ve had mixed success - depends on the cable - the Micro HDMI is delicate - I have a Micro HDMI to Mini HDMI - gaming flat screen that works well - my full size monitor doesn’t recognize it but I think it is a faulty cable. you also have to ENABLE the devterm to recognize an external monitor when it it plugged in.

How do you enable this?

Settings/Display/Advanced

option is Connecting Displays
turn on Configure new displays when connected…

note I’m having trouble gettting the DevTerm to recognize some displays - natively it appears to prefere

1920 x 1080 resolution - I have other display that keep saying no signal - also the
Micro DVI port is subject to mechanical loading with large long connectors so support your cables.

I’ve since tried multiple monitors with two separate Mini to HDMI cables - I’m convinced it’s monitor resolution issues and not the cable although I’m having some issue with USB and HDMI ports.

I have this setting enabled and I am using a 1920x1080 60hz monitor with no luck. Using this cable: CanaKit Premium Raspberry Pi 4 Micro HDMI Cable - 6 Feet
