Proper way to reflash R01 image?

Tried to update some software using apt.
Broke the install.

Tried to reflash the R01 image using RUFUS
System boots, no issues.

TWM shortcuts no longer working. The original SD card had multiple partitions, but the image file does not create them (of course).

Is there documentation to rebuild the SD card as it was factory new? OR, is there documentation so I can set the relative paths to a single partition image root? Is there any research on the performance differences for running a single partition vs. multiple partition installs?

I bought the module separately so it never had an SD card. Just writing the downloaded image from the website onto the card with balena etcher worked fine for me.
