The R01 is difficult to connect to WiFi since there is no GUI. BlueMonkey 4n6 has a video that will easily walk you through the steps using terminal and was the easiest I have found.
I found the last 1/3 of the video perfect to use on a R01. Hope this helps other Linux newbies, like me.
