Does you USB tester have a dummy load? If not, there is no current shown as there is no current. The power draw of the tester itself will be neglectable.
I connected an active ESP32 project to the usb A via the tester. it showed about 4.93V and a current draw of between 0.05-0.13A. So it seems the usb A is providing some power, but external peripherals like a mouse/keyboard dont seem to work..
To evaluate this, a side view would be more useful.
- adapter board seems okay
- it not possible to say if cm5 seats properly in the adapter board, it should click twice when you insert it in (take adapter board out before try again)
- you battery board is not properly inserted: Bookworm 6.12.y for the uConsole and DevTerm - #362 by Rex
Do these shots help? As @white-round-square suggested, the 2 clicks were there, and i reinserted the battery board.
I don’t have a uConsole yet, but I’ve already clipped my CM4 onto the HackGadget adapter board. It looks exactly the same as yours. The remaining gap is simply the height of the sockets.
Looks good. Beware the CM5 module lifting when you remove the back cover, always check it’s down fully before putting the cover back on.
On checking the main board, i believe my GL850G IC is kaputt. The rref(pin 4) showed 0V while the OS was running. With power off, there was indication of it being shorted to ground. Has anyone had this issue before?
