Hello there, I have uConsole with CM4 8 EMMC ClockworkPi-Trixie, upgrade board, m2 SSD, AIO v2 and 2 fresh new batteries with good specs. Since installing AIO board I started to see my console instantly powers off around 55% remaining charge. So I only have about half capacity. Exactly same behavior I experienced with previous batteries and thought buying fresh ones will solve it but no.
Did you calibrated battery?
What batteries do you have?
How? Discharge - Charge - Discharge? Did it. Also when 100% charged made echo 1 | sudo tee /sys/class/power_supply/axp20x-battery/calibrate
New batteries are 18650 LiitoKala 3400 mAh, previous with exact same behavior were armytek.
there are also power issues on CM5 when battery dries below 50%,
seems like uconsole’s powerboard can’t handle power drain as it was made for CM3
There are various threads on this topic. You can use an overlay to specify your battery capacity:
And you can initiate a calibration:
However, I’m not sure whether or how these mechanisms work together.
Maybe @Rex could explain this to us again?
you really only need to worry about that if you are using a custom battery or pack. the small differences in the 18650s don’t matter.
Writing this on uConsole with tray shows 99% at 3.73V. Will try to calibrate it once more. I expect it die at once if I turn on SDR now, or launch Cursor Agent.
You’re using the same battery type as before? Might not be good batteries. I recommend Samsung 35e unprotected cells
Unfortunately have to say changing batteries to new Samsung 35e didnt do any difference. After calibration, driver info stuck at 100% and when voltage estimation shows <50%, driver unfreezes and starts to decrease. At voltage monitor about 10-15% console shuts off while driver shows 50-57%.
do calibration under load
