Can we confirm the uconsole has a backlit keyboard? If yes how to activate it as tested in dark room and there is no lighting on the keyboard. But i have seen some mention it supports backlit keyboard?
It does, I’m not near mine right now but there is a fn key combo that will turn it on, just can’t remember which.
Yeah that’s what mine looks like as well. I would describe the second level as “good enough” - doesn’t blow me away, but gets the job done. Glad you figured it out.
In real life is the light more uniform or are some keys hardly lit compared to others? I am aware taking a picture of this next to the quite bright screen might make a camera go a bit off.
@Qazax It’s not super uniform. A very MVP, utilitarian design. Probably better for the battery life that way anyways.
It’s my uConsole - Black wifi only.
LED is max level.
Some key ( A, G, J, 7, 9 …) are bright.
Shift, Ctl … little bright.
Came here as I was convinced it wasn’t working using the fn + space combo - but I guess as the images here kinda show it is just very dim. Useful in a dark room, but more or less invisible in any sort of daylight…
It is pretty dim, but try pressing fn+space twice. There’s two levels of brightness, and I think a firmware bug in pre-update keyboards causes the first level to not work at all.
The keyboard firmware update is pretty nice anyway, it fixes some issues with the volume up/down: https://github.com/clockworkpi/uConsole/tree/master/images
Cheers, I had noticed It needed pressing a few times, but It hadn’t clicked that the first level didn’t work at all. Updating the keyboard firmware was well worth doing
Not sure why you would need to see a keyboard backlight in daylight?
is there a way to turn on the backlight in console mode? tried the key combo and it doesn’t work
The brighter ones are where the leds are located, there is a white plastic diffuser but I found its brighter without it so I removed it, the only problem with that is that the brighter spots get even brighter but doesn’t bother me
