I recently received my uConsole and I installed a CM5 (CM5116000) with 16gb ram and no EMMC. I installed the 6.12.45 Image by Rex onto a 64gb TF and it successfully loaded with dozens of lines of text and then a windows GUI with a blank dialog box and shortly thereafter (maybe 5 seconds) the screen went black. I haven’t been able to get the screen to work, and I don’t have a micro HDMI (it is on order though) to try and see if I can get a separate screen to work. I see that I should edit my EEPROM…and am coming here to see how to do that as I’ve read several threads but I don’t know where or how I would edit it. Also, I’ve seen that there may be another fix I will need to initiate for the Hacker Gadgets expansion board…is that correct?
Thank you in advance for any assistance, and I apologize if this has been discussed…I looked but I may have mistakenly missed it.
you have to be booted with the cm5 to edit the eeprom it’s in the bootloader of the cm5 so once you do it it’ll work with all sd cards follow the instructions in this post.
you will need to get the cm5 booted though, which can be a challenge. try the smallest, slowest and cheapest sd you have they seem to work the best to get the first boot out the way.
I had a SanDisk Ultra 16gb microSD and used PicoImager to get the 6.12.45 Image on it successfully. However, I’m still not loading, so I’ve ordered a carrier board, a micro HDMI, and the specific microSD mentioned in Rex’s post. I read that someone just left their unit on and it eventually loaded (somehow) and they were able to get the EEPROM config fixed…so while I’m waiting for my overkill fix list of parts I can keep working on it.
