Hello guys, I’m a completely noob at raspberry pi and I got my new uconsole 2weeks ago. I assembled everything up and put the cm5 lite in it. I burn the ubuntu image which provided by Rex into the sd card but the screen show nothing. I try update the bootloader but it gives me a red screen in my external screen. When I try booting my uconsole I can see these messages on the external screen.
I have a cm4 but as far as im aware you cannot use the cm4 to cpi adapter board with a cm5 you either need a waveshare one or a HackerGadgets one.
Thx for your reply! I am afraid that it is not the reason because I found a video that use the original board with the cm5. But I will try the hackergadget broad after all the troubleshooting!
you can use cm5 with stock uconsole hardware
have you updated eeprom?
you need the eeprom config changes so the SD card slows down a bit, the default settings are too sensitive to noise and don’t work reliably
that’s why it says SD card not detected
I watched this video and do exactly what it did but I get a red screen on my external monitor when I was updating the bootloader.
"Update the eeprom "do you mean update the bootloader? I am confused about these 2 concepts
Thx man. I will try to do that. But I’m still not quite sure how to do that.Do I need a io broad? Because I always get a black screen and I cannot operate on the external screen? Could you provide more information please?
try your older and smaller sd cards, it’s more likely to boot on those, then when it boots follow the steps in eeprom config thread @white-round-square linked, that also has a link to a card that seems to work on the cm5 with default settings
thanks,I will try that out.
yooo~I try that Teamgroup SD card and it work! but it can only power on when usb-c power connected. I cannot turn it on when I plug in my 18650 battery even usb-c power connected. Do you have any recommendations for 18650 batteries? Thx for your help!!
The most recommended type is probably the Samsung 18650 35E.
