uConsole wont boot - CM5 lite 8gb

Hi all,

Hope u guys doing well..

Received my unit past few days.Starting building it yesterday and facing common issue - wont boot

Had followed some of the suggestions here and yet still cant make it live :sweat_smile:

* Tried few size of SD card 128gb, 32 and 16 - got one time clockwork os splash screen then after few seconds screen goes black and nothing happened

* Tried different images from Rex still same

* Hdmi out work well and i can see some error - refer picture

* Tried update the bootloader via flashing raspi bootloader image - got green screen..Then reinsert another sd card with rex images nothing changes..still received same image as above

Note: Never tried update the eeprom yet since i dont have any carrier or io board

Any other suggestion that i can do or i miss something out? Anyway it is a good learning curve for me..

Thanks guys :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

you can update without a carrier board, you just need to find a working sd card and boot once from it.

hi @white-round-square

dont have much card with me to test it out..able to get it boot today using an io board borrowed from someone else

thanks for your help :+1::+1::+1:

What did you flash your SD Card with? The error messages indicate that the boot partition is not formatted correctly. If you want to get your SD card working, I would try to reflash it using Balena, or Rufus (if you are in windows). It could be that the card is just incompatible or corrupt.

i’m using rpi-imager on debian with no custom setting..i think maybe my SD not good enough to support first boot directly from unconsole itself..

anyway i can make it live now after using io board for first boot and do eeprom update..works like a charm now with new keyboard fw update and minor fitting on the antenna placement for better reception ..:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

thanks for your reply..appreciate it..:folded_hands:
