Hi there.
Alex asked me to share my personal finding about R01’s antenna.
According to assembly instructions antena should be mounted like so.
In this place signal reception wasn’t good, if any. Where my other devices reported 3/5 signal strength, uC’s nmtui didn’t even seen SSID being broadcasted.
Mounting Wi-Fi antenna where 4G antenna was supposed to be
improved reception to the point where i am able to use wireless connectivity to manage µC and vice versa.
I’ll admit that speeds aren’t particulary “fast”, testing from the same physical spot and on same 2.4G network with my lowend Android phone yields
while µConsole struggles to pass 10Mbps
cpi@uConsole-R01:~$ iwconfig wlan0
wlan0 IEEE 802.11 ESSID:"stacyjkowo_62"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.437 GHz Access Point: [redacted]

Power Management:on
Link Quality=35/70 Signal level=-75 dBm

But for me it’s good enough. SSH sessions are stable, not lagging, sshfs/ nfs mounts are usable. Surely some external stick like +4dBi wouldn’t hurt but as stated- good enough.
