Hi, I’m new here and not very familiar with the topic, but one key on my keyboard (q) doesn’t work. Is this a known issue? I wrote a script that displays the codes of pressed keys, but when I press “q” nothing comes up. It doesn’t seem to be a hardware problem, because the keyboard module itself communicates correctly. Have there been any issues with the firmware for this component?
Additionally, I have the latest Ubuntu from Rex installed (ClockworkPi-Ubuntu-24.04-6.12.45).
I’ve checked 1 and 2, but the problem is still there. I’ll check if the state changes on the controller’s input lines when pressed, but I need to get a multimeter first…
you will need to take it apart and check the dome of metal under the Q key that it is sitting over the contact on the board, when i got mine one key was ever so slightly to one side so was not making great contact, it just took me two seconds to move it over a bit under the tape keeping it in place.
Unfortunately, that’s not the cause; for me, all the buttons look fine. These contacts are soldered very well, and without a meter with good, sharp probes, I can’t check whether the button itself is faulty.
Back to the topic: I’ve checked the button mounted on the PCB and it works correctly. Unfortunately, the controller still doesn’t react when it’s pressed.
This is the M41 button. The row4 and col1 lines are functioning properly because the other buttons on these lines and columns work fine.
