You can do anything you want and update normally. Just don’t do any dist-upgrades. As that will replace my custom kernel with the stock Raspberry Pi kernel.

so i shouldnt run sudo apt upgrade you mean?

You can just not dist-upgrade
I do provide updates for my custom kernel, and you will receive them through apt upgrade

ok,btw i notice i cant select the applications menu with the scroll wheel and other things when i click them

The scroll click is the 3rd mouse button. (Click a browser link and it’ll open in a new tab)
A lot of people flash the keyboard with the community built qmk firmware, and also replace the trackball with an aftermarket one.

so what should i do , i just want the function like a normal mouse if possible where i can select stuff with a click

is it ok if i follow this persons recommendation im still new to command line code

i see now the L R buttons are left click right click hahaha im and idiot lol

If you want to use the trackball as a left click then you would need to edit and compile the qmk firmware and flash it to your keyboard. The l&r to the left of the trackball are the normal left and right click for the mouse.

so far it seems to be working as it should but i wanted to know if its good at playing youtube videos im trying but it just stays loading the video

It does play YouTube videos it’ll just be choppy. If you turn off hardware acceleration it will work better.

not necessary as you can remap mouse buttons in X11

oir in wayland if DE/WM allows it

Just to pitch in. I recommend mpv --profile=fast. Best use the ffmpeg with patches for Raspberry Pi.
