I kinda think CWP actually communicates enough, they clearly stated the shipping progress and reason for the delays. They are small company with limited resources and have very little control on a lot of things. Too much communication would just sometimes make things worse. What if they said something but then things changed again, it’ll just disappoint us more. So it’s good communication so far somehow.
And the Wen ship thread seems indeed a place to host a lot discussions on this thread (like this), people need a place to vent, not violently but the same reason as talking to someone who are experiencing the same situation to ease the anxiety up. However if it’s a topic specifically for venting, it’ll for sure go awry (imaging the movie The Purge). Discussions here are fun and light so far just because this thread is also for shipping information, people restrain themselves from over-venting, it’s a delicate balance of sentiment that this thread is doing a good job so far to maintain. For whomever needs official information ONLY there needs to be a feature of the forum to follow / see only what official posts (Alex and others) and hide others, so that they don’t have to “whine / bitch” about our “whinings / bitchigns” LOL.
I would say the same but i cant. Everything I have ever been interested in that has been even remotely similar to the DevTerm/uConsole or CWPI’s completeness and attention to detail never gets released.
I can live with a few months of delays and infrequent communication (still far better than many other projects/companies) when I know the product will actually ship, especially when compared to some of the products i have been watching for years that never materialize.
Remember the Popcorn Computer Pocket PC that is more than 3 years past their original estimated ship date and still waiting? Or the DragonBox Pyra that started (and seem to still be accepting) pre-orders in 2016? Yeah, Ill be back for more CWPI products.
@AlexDuan said “the customs wants us to prove that the 4G module we provide isn’t a controlled electrical product.” I ordered R-01 WiFi only, does the delay apply to these as well?
Hey, the Pyra is a real thing you can buy now. Don’t diss him, it’s pretty one guy running the whole show. He shipped openPandora and he shipped the Pyra, eventually.
Unrelated to this reply:
ClockworkPi will ship this product. Chill daddy.
Im in the same boat as you are, CM4 wireless only. Alex addressed this question here:
Ill admit that I haven’t actively checked on that project since about early 2020 and the site never updated to say it was finally actively shipping, it just said “preorder now!” forever. If it said “Shipping Now!” i probably would have picked one up at some point -_-
no spam from team - it’s ok.
i beliving in this team. i’am waiting result. Time is not important.
spam in this theme - it’s a pain. it’s simple idea.
you understand?
I know that waiting, delay and some lack of communication can be annoying, but could you please try to avoid unrelated messages and staying courteous with each other?
There are plenty of other topic and category to talk about all of these things non related with “uConsole Shipping”
@AlexDuan
It has been three weeks since the last update. The Dragon Boat Festival holiday will start tomorrow. May I ask if there is any new progress to share or just a few simple pictures? (已编辑)
I thought so, but the emulation layer costs CPU/RAM resources. Is Stardew really that easy to run that you can run it on a Raspberry Pi/A-06 (I forget what rockchip the A-06 used).
On a different note, whilst checking their store to see what RK??? chip they use, I saw that cores have been taken off the store and cannot be ordered separately! maybe because they’re using all they have for uConsole batches? possibly. that would mean they’ve made uConsoles of every flavor (A-04, A-06, CM4, R-01, all taken off the store for individual order) and are going to ship them all when the authorities give them the go ahead!
or maybe this is mad speculation and I’ll be proven wrong lol
