Glad to hear that I’m not the only one waiting forever. So far it’s been been 3 and half months, and requested an update, and they advised me another 3 months, 2 weeks ago. Hopefully I still have interest in the thing by then. I was hoping it would get me through the Alaska winter, it’ll probably become a glorified paper weight at this rate, and seeing how I will probably too busy in the Summer. I was also thinking about starting a small youtube channel to show a newb(me being the newb) review. Might still do the review on advising, if ordering cross you fingering, and have extreme patients, it might come. Good times.

Hey @Rex,

Do you recommend Debian 12 Bookworm or Devian 13 Trixie when it comes to resource efficiency/performance and stability?

there is no difference. newer debian release has newer packages.

you can update an older one to a newer one.

Oh okay, so for the convenience, I’ll probably go with the new one.

Hello, thanks for your amazing works! BTW, I cannot connect to any wifi with your kali image when I used it for uConsole CM4 wifi 8GB Lite model. Could you check it? I did no modification, but I’ll give you more info if necessary.

Does the same thing happen with the Debian Trixie image? Are you using the stock antenna stuck right to the uConsole?

I’m using stock images, and it only happens to Kali image. Other images can connect to wifi with no problem, and Kali images work with usb ethernet and bluetooth thethering. And once I fully update the OS via other network, wifi function functions again. Seems like some drivers are missing?

And I’m using stock antenna. Is there any good antenna module which is easy to install?

Hello,
I downloaded the ParrotSecurity image from the drive (date 12 sept 2025) but it doesn’t work on my uConsole (nothing happens) because I got it one week ago and I think I have the new display.
@Rex would you please update this image ?

Parrot OS has not been updated for the new panel that ships with the uConsole. There’s a problem with updating to 7.1 right now, so I haven’t put out a new image. I’ll update the current image with the newer kernel so will work with the new panel. Still looking for a fix to get Parrot OS 7.1 working though.

Well, updating the current image would be a good point meanwhile. Thank you

if you’d like to show Rex your appreciation, you can buy him a coffee:

Quick update, I found out that trixie images also have wifi driver issue. Wifi works again after update, so it looks like driver issue, too.

And trixie images have problem with update, and when I edit /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf file’s “modules=dep” to “modules=most”, it updates well without error.

what cm and antenna setup are you using? im having no wifi problems on a fresh flash.
yeah the second one happens when initramfs-tools updates and reverts a change i have to make to enable building a initramfs for a custom kernel. my kernel packages make the change so they can build a initramfs, so you can reinstall the kernel to fix it when initramfs-tools updates.
