Trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong or perhaps have faulty hardware. I’ve tried on both the stock OS that came on the sd card as well as another sd card i made with the latest Bookworm download from Rex(?).
When i plug anything into the usb-a port, in this case a usb hub or rtl-sdr stick, the device shuts right down. If i power back up, with the devices connected, the power button green light comes on for about 5 seconds and it turns off again. If I disconnect from usb and power up, business as usual.
Seems odd, no? Any thoughts or suggestions? I have made no significant mods other than replacing the wifi antenna with a better one. But no soldering or advanced hackery.
Are you running on mains or battery?
What batteries are you using?
Whats the rating of the power supply?
USB can draw a bit of power when first connected. If your batteries are bad or you have a inadequate power supply, it could cause the problems you’re describing.
That was it! Thanks a bunch. When directly powered, no problems. On battery, even with the indicator about 75%, it still shuts down. Chalking it up to the fact that I have batteries that i ordered when I ordered the uconsole. And even though those batteries seemed to travel by pack mule from Wuhan, they still got here way before the uconsole!
Ordering some fresh batteries and digging in. Thanks again!
