When should deliveries of PicoCalc start?

Remember that 30 business days is 6 weeks. I do agree that using “business” days is not forth-coming and border-line not honest. Marketing trick.

When I was waiting, I just started developing on a Pico through the serial port. If you are interested in MMBasic, I would start playing around and learning that. MMBasic is very rich and getting the basics down now without the distraction of graphics is good for learning.

Thank you very much for your helpful message.
My (and others) order is much older than 6 weeks (or 4 business weeks). ClockworkPi can also write “we need 8 (or more :-() business weeks for delivery”: This where be better, or not?
The false “30 business days” makes me a little bit angry, and others too.

I programmed in BASIC since the 1980th (now in c, c++ or python if i need). The Pico in MicroPython (and my HP48SX (the best calculator ever from my perspective) in Lisp (but no more today :-)).

Excuse my very bad “english”.

Best regards

Markus

Alex wrote on June 20th 2025 (ca. three weeks ago) “Hi, Sorry for the waiting.
We are working on your order at this moment. Won’t take much longer .”

At the very least they should update the order page based on their backlog. If the current expected shipping time is 90 days, write 90 days, not 30.

Yes, I can really understand your point of view. I was not trying to say you were wrong, and I completely agree that you should be frustrated! Truthfully, I am just trying to inject some hope to help?

I completely agree that the website should be honest and place realistic dates.

I consider the order number/date - shipping date posts to be informative, not impatient. I’ve used them to gauge where in line I am at the moment. As long as others with similar order numbers are still waiting for their PicoCalc, I know I don’t need to bother support to ask where mine is. That’s the reason I posted mine as well, so the next guy can take a look and not worry his shipment has been lost. I’ve waited on Kickstarter projects for over 4 years, I know some things take time. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I wrote to Alex on June 25th 2025 to ask about the status of my order and received this response:

“Hi,
Sorry for the waiting.
We will be working on your order in just a few days.
Your order shall be fulfilled before mid-July.”

I once bought a uConsole CM4 and had to wait a long time, like everyone else.
But I was so happy with it that I bought another one and of course had to wait a long time again.
It doesn’t matter to me, as long as I know an approximate time horizon.

Sorry for my bad English.

A small disappointment as I was hoping for both to be delivered together, but at least I’m getting one.

Two Pi Pico 2WHs, four 18650 LiIO cells, and one 4-cell conditioner/recharger on hand.

Strange, I got two emails from ClockWork within less than a minute of each other. The first said that one was shipped and one awaiting shipment. The second said that both were shipped. Weird.

Oh well, at least they (or one?) are on their way.

My initial order was planed in April, than decided to wait a bit to see what solution
can be for the cracked screen.
Now I am in peace, waiting for delivery sometime after September

Shipped today. To Southern California. I feel much older after checking this forum post and my email everyday. Older but happier.

My order number is also 370xx to Poland. The USA always has priority and parcels go out faster to them.

Earlier I was a bit disappointed that they were sending them in two separate shipments, but I did get both today. Interestingly, I also got the soft-sided cases for them, at the same time.

Now, to get a couple hours to put them together - and, I already have the Pico 2WHs ready to go. That will give me two plain Pico Hs for other projects.

Looks like this is a 75 ish business day wait. That’s not even close to 30 business days. I mean long wait times are one thing, wildly incorrect estimates and lack of communication are another.
Guess I should adjust my expectation from “before mid-july” (stated in E-Mail) to actually after mid-august.

That is how I worked on zeptoforth on the PicoCalc before I had an actual PicoCalc ─ I’d written ST7789V drivers compatible with the ST7365P drivers used with the PicoCalc with a very similar underlying codebase along with an emulator for the keyboard used on the PicoCalc and wired these up to a Pimoroni Pico Plus 2 with almost the same pinout (the only exceptions were that my ST7789V display didn’t have a MISO pin and instead had a backlight pin I needed to wire to my board, where the backlight pin on the PicoCalc is tied instead to the STM32), along with wiring up a microSDHC card and speaker drivers the same way as on the PicoCalc.
