When should deliveries of PicoCalc start?

WAG = Wild Assed Guess

more like an Educated Guess - given the history with clockwork - ordered the DevTerm during covid - it was close to a year, uConsole ~6 months , PicoCalc … if it comes in three months it will be a surprise.. (i’ve almost forgot I Ordered it) then there are the US tariffs .. perfect storm…

Someone ordered from Europe or concretely Spain? Will be necessary paid customs? I’m back to ordered again after cancel

My order #376xx
Date: 28/04
From: Spain
Email: not yet
Delivery: not yet

Did you have to paid customs? How much? Thanks.

About 24€ for France (custom tax, vat, fedex cost…)

same here for germany

Nothing extra paid for mine in the UK !?

Has been over a week since i ordered no updates. Im getting a bit impatient now after seeing all the great things being done on this gadget

Yes it is painful yet mine was virtually shipped on the ā€œ30 business dayā€ mark !. MUCH faster than uConsole times…

BTW, my replacement display arrived yesterday. So it took almost exactly two weeks since it was shipped, though it was stuck many days in customs arriving into the US. I haven’t installed it yet though, because I want to be very careful and make sure I don’t have to mess with it again for a good long time for fear of breaking it.

I let Alex know it arrived, and asked him about Clockwork’s plans for the screen issue. He said they’ve got some kind of improvement planned and the factory is working on that right now. So maybe those who receive their devices later will get the benefit of a less fragile screen. (I’m not sure what is changing, whether it’s the screen itself, the case, or what.) For anyone who doesn’t want to swap modules around a lot and is very careful during assembly, the original screen is fine. It’s only opening up the case that risks damaging the screen.

Taping the screen down like this helps greatly (note one side shorter so as not to cover the light guide). I guess the upcoming mod is simply protruding click lips or screwed clips holding the screen in place… My second idea is to drill the centre two back case mounting holes and add spacers to those screws so they hold the circuit board in place AND stop movement of the display ribbon cable. Then only the four corner screws need to be removed to remove the back cover (photos coming soon).

Did it, now only the four corner screws needed to open the case and motherboard/display ribbon stay in place. Bottom washers will be improved though for larger ones with a flat side…

About 50€ but I think fedex made a mistake with the facturation… So in fact, normally it’s about only the half of that. Can’t confirm for now, as fedex take a looooong time to answer every request!

We got the same idea of using washer to hold the PCB when using picocalc in ā€œopenedā€ state.

If you’re using metallic one, you can use so tape between it the PCB to avoid scratch on its surface too.

In austria with shipping and taxes 110.

Additional to the ClockWork cost (75$ + 25$)?

Only metal used is the screw itself, going off topic of deliveries though. Good to hear replacement parts can be ordered from Clockwork and supplied in a week.

Maybe someone interested in pre-replace Pico before mount the kit. I bought this Pico 2W.

Sorry the offtopic.

Hi! :waving_hand:
I’m Ariel, from Argentina.
I’m 56 years old, and I’ve been using computers for about 40 years (I started with a TI-99/4A in 1983).
I just bought a PicoCalc device to relive the old BASIC days.

My order number is #379xx. Does anyone have an approximate idea of the delivery wait time?

P.S.: A couple of months ago I bought a uConsole, order #33xxx, but I haven’t heard anything yet. I hope the PicoCalc arrives first!

Hi Ariel. Hopefully shipped 30 business days from when you ordered as mine was. Shipping is certainly faster than uConsole !.
