A few questions about CPU, GPU, Battery and so on

Hi guys, I am back asking for more information meanwhile the console arrives (many months rom now I assume). I will have a CM4 lite which limits the computing power but I have used laptops with intel dual cores from 2012 until 2022 to use Matlab and others so I assume it won’t be that distant on performance issues. There is however another issues like the battery and on this I have some questions that you might have deal with before (I am already deep diving o the forums to check already and find some info too but wanted to ask so maybe there is new stuff someone already solved)

  1. I assume there is a way to limit the CPU speed to save battery, in my case he device will be sue outdoors in the field so I might need to save power. Can the speed to be set freely on a decent range below the 1.5GHZ? like 800 Mhz and later when I want to go back at 1.1 or 1.5 when needed?

  2. About the speed and battery, I have saw many people working on batteries with more capacity, is there any way to just buy from amazon compatible batteries with larger energy density? and any of you have any experience on how long their devices last depending on the battery?

  3. The GPU!, the CM4 does not have a proper GPU from what I know, the more close ting was the six core A06 module with the Mali chip. In this case how much the existence of the GPU decreases the battery of the console vs the CM4? and other boards like he radxa (corrected by @white-round-square ) that I think have a heavier spec? they cause troubles inside the console with the device?

  4. And finally, can you simple turn off the device and swap batteries I assume when you want.

You can buy 3500mAh batteries from reputable battery stores, that’s about the largest legit size for 18650s right now, I would avoid marketplace stores like amazon. And yes if you open the device you can just swap batteries, but since batteries are in parallel you shouldn’t mix batteries with different states of charge.

also people put cm5 and downlcock it to have similar to cm4 battery life, but better perfomance.

ehm, you can’t even normally use modern browser on cm4. (on core2duo you can’t eihter)

you can check internet for comparison of CPUs performance.

no, but there non-official board that allow you to replace 18650x2 with lion square battery, it will have more capacity if you are willing to do it.

with 2x18650 you should have ~5 hours. (±2h)

did you mean radxa? it works, but no audio and wifi so you need to use usb dongle.
