still exploring the depths of the beepy (pi zero) I use it for to do list and organizing myself more than anything - and I’ve accessed via ssh using android Terminus over it’s own keyboard and screen - so I have another larger screen and pi zero and hope to build a hand held version that is slightly larger…
There is this cool project on indiegogo PiPad | Indiegogo
I highly doubt that will ever ship. The product image is just a poorly photoshopped uConsole
I think that is their Indiegogo, they joined just to shill their kickstarter.
Would like to throw this out there, its not the cyberdeck like tech thats been posted here but its still a pretty cool project using a cm4/pi zero2w. PSPi turns your psp (1000 model) into a conputer or a game emulating device, theres a few great working os (ubuntu, pios, kali…) with an active discord and pretty great community. Will leave a link plus a few photos of my pspi and hope people are interested.
This thread it’s beautiful and its a shame it’s almost been a year since last reply.
So here’s my contribution
ZitaoTech’s HackberryPi5: A handheld Linux device using Raspberry Pi5 as Core with 4" 720X720 TFT Touch display
I own one and I couldn’t recommend it more, simply beautiful and works like a charm

I finally realized this is why I ordered a picocalc: to satisfy my deep longing for an MCDU
Portable Handheld Linux Terminal With 3.5inch Touch Display, 640 × 480 Resolution, Optical Bonding, Supports Raspberry Pi 4B / 5 Portable Development And Debugging Devices
$87.99 - $179.99
Shame about the resolution. There’s no way that’s what the display actually looks like in the store pages. ![]()
Yeah, the screen resolution is one reason I went with the uConsole. 640x480 just isn’t usable anymore. That device looks nice, and I would probably buy one if it had a better resolution, even if I had to pay a bit more.
I have their 2.8" Display (640x480) and it is sharp as hell. So I’d say the pictures may well be true. But also, 640x480 is still useless for everything but emulating really old Computer systems.
well sure, on a 2 inch screen it’ll look aright. The bigger the screen, the worse it’s going to get. Also no modern gui will use that low of a resolution correctly.
You’re right. Raspberry Pi OS looks great on 640x480 but only on first sight. Even the dialogs for setting Screen Resolution/Touch etc won’t fit ![]()

I’m planning on getting a CardputerZero to use in conjunction with my uConsole. My handheld is good for most computing tasks but an IR transceiver, camera, and digital music player would be an excellent combo in a smaller device to keep in my pocket. I also want to try LoRa communication between the two, eventually, though for now that’s pretty far outside my knowledge. I’ll have plenty of time to learn before it arrives.
LoRa is great - but if you really think about it, take something that can actually run on battery for some time and give it a spin in field.
https://www.seeedstudio.com/Wio-Tracker-L1-Pro-p-6454.html can run for few days rather than hours.
I’m using uconsole (with AIOv2), waiting for cardputer to play with it too - and like 5 meshtastic/meshcore devices. Get two if you can for both roles - as they are separate networks and your milage may vary in location. Here in Poland - there’s way more communication on Meshcore.
You mean one of these?
