I have a upgraded kernel sd and a fresh flash and testing on my CM4 I can’t reproduce. Do you have any custom drivers compiled for your setup? (wifi, sdr…)
No, nothing unusual kernel-wise
Screen blanking with X11 seems to be broken as well. The screen doesn’t wake up after pressing keys or moving the trackball
does this occur with a fresh install?
uConsole #boot
me too it i’m having the same issue some times it boots fine
But if I do a Reboot it works perfect but if I Shutdown then turn it back on again it goes blank screen and after a few try’s it boots ok
maybe something to do with a Hard boot? @Rex
ok I’ll to some testing tonight.
I can confirm this behavior. I have been chasing down the no screen on boot with CM4 also. Just popped in to check and see if anyone else was experiencing it too. Will boot all the way sometimes after about 6 tries. Fresh install nothing custom.
@n1f7 @Sherlock_XGP @TechSR2
OK I tested and made some kernel changes go ahead and run a sudo apt reinstall clockworkpi-kernel
and let me know how it works for you.
Ok I’ll let you know in 9 Minutes, in the middle of copying something
Just fyi I plugged in an external monitor and it is booting up just not displaying on uConsole screen.
did you reinstall the kernel?
Just saw that Working on it. will report back
it’s Working,
I shutdown and then turn it on a 7 times and it boots perfect
thank you @Rex
and the Orange Charging Light is working too
It is booting all the way to the desktop now no other issues so far. 5 shutdowns and starts. I concur with @Sherlock_XGP the orange charge light is now working on the power button. Thanks @Rex
I can confirm cold boots are working now as well as screen blanking.
For me too, everything works now. Thanks to @Rex and @Paragonnov for their work! But recently, I regularly have an error that happens when I update the os, it seems to be related to the installation of the Kernel. If anyone has an idea, I’m interested!
(Latest @Rex lite image with KDE with @Paragonnov eeprom tweaks, on a CM5)
(Sorry, the locales are in French )
EDIT : now it’s work! I just reinstalled « initramfs-tools »…
I no longer have any boot and restart failures. On this side, the screen pilot looks much more stable.
To make my Precious work as efficiently and for as long as possible, I reduce the frequencies of the processor and gpu (CM5) :
(In boot/firmware/ config.txt)
gpu_mem=256
gpu_freq=500
arm_freq=1800
It’s work very well with KDE.
The flashing with balenaEtcher constantly fails with this image. Is there a limitation on the SD’s capacity? I’m trying to flash a 256GB Kingston Endurance card, default settings. Now trying a 64GB card (CM4)
UPDATE:
Failed with 64GB as well.
