Building my own DevTerm

I got my PicoCalc last year and I’ve been learning a lot, but I don’t like the keyboard very much. I decided that I wanted a DevTerm basically for typing on the go, but then I found that they aren’t making them anymore. I looked online for it, but it’s basically non-existent.

After a few days of deep cavillations and varios ruminations, I figured out I could use my 3D printer, and then buy the pi, the screen, the batteries and a proper 65% keyboard, and make my own DevTerm.

Has anyone here tried a similar endeavour? I don’t want to end with a lot of unused electronic parts (again). Cheers

A better term you are looking for is a cyber deck! Search that up on youtube and you will find countless results with different styles, especially ones designed after retro computers (like the dev term). Its a relatively simple project as you can make it out of some pretty cheaper recycled products or go all out and do things like CNC your own case. Overall lots of fun and super educational!!

good luck!

Thanks, I’m going to do that. I loved the DevTerm design though.
