Cm5 thermals are bonkers

Made this on the mill today, this absolute unit of a heat sink bolts into the rear shell which has had a huge square cut out so this whole thing can make contact with the cm5 via a PTM 7950 pad. I’ve been running deepseek on it for experimentation, and it’s wild that this giant hunk of aluminum still hits 85-90 F , spicy!

Was it your first time using a mill?

I do not have that one yet, but what is the relation between
software running that creates that much heat to make that giant heatsink necessary
to
battery life

°F? So 32°C (305K)? That’s “spicy” to you? What’s the ambient temperature there?

Maybe spicy because of how low the temps are?

Actually yes, old school Kearny and trecker horizontal, giant ass cutters, there’s a reason these aren’t made any more , shit was spooky

Just think about how much energy is being used and dumping through the die of the chip to then heat that huge ass piece of aluminum, that’s kinda nuts for something powered by two 18650s
