DevTerm Production Status Update

Damn I didn’t think it would happen but it looks like devterm might just make it out before flipper zero.

Anybody else waiting on one of those too btw?

I am as well, and all in all I think it’s a great example of quality over quantity, there’s been like 50 updates, only one or two addressing why they’re still not shipping. I’m even in the early adopter program and there hasn’t been a word.

Nice! Are there any parts sticked to a frame(runner) like gundam models? do we actually need a model scissor(cutter) to cut any pieces from the frame(runner), and sand paper to polish the cut edge nicely? It seems that parts are wrapped with transparent soft plastic containers as per @iamcco 's post, the first picture.

You only need a screw driver.

It’s quite an upgrade from gameshell kit hahah!

If the Gameshell is similar to a gundam model kit (Gunpla) with all the runners you have to cut off the sprues, and sanding down the nubs to get a finish look…

… This one with its’ individually packaged and ready to assemble ethos (very few on the runners) is pretty much on the level of Bandai’s Chogokin line… or even TakaraTomy’s Diaclone line, if we want to go by collectible hobby comparisons. Definitely up and shoulders here in presentation!

to sum it up: Devterm’s packaging is most similar to what you can see in high end collectible hobby, arguably a lost art even in that domain. You can frame this and hang it up, it’ll be an amazing display piece on your wall even!

EDIT: That reminds me: I should order my LG MJ1s cells now. I’m late to the shipping party (04 module series) but you having this in hand means now’s the good time as any for me to buy the parts. Devterm’s definitely coming soon!

Me too. I thought they two might fit well together.

Looks great. Anyone who received one, how are you liking it so far?

Obviously I don’t spend enough time here anymore… so if I’m not wasting my time everyday… like the rest of yall… Obviously I’m not focused on CPi or the DT… so… #1? Hardly… meanwhile I’m over hear doing my own thing building things far more impressive and unique.

… But :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

lemme get my bearings a sec:

here you are, replying to me about your circumstances and happenings whereas everyone else is focused and delighted about the news of the device?

ooo-kayy…

No wait- I can’t leave it hanging!

How is this not wasting of your time? How.

Don’t look at me in the wrong way, I bought the devterm, so I live here, so to speak. Never a wasteful thing for me to do!

… But this though

Such a post on this thread? Perhaps you should focus on a new thread about your DIY, rather than announcing your work here? No offense, but you definitely gain more traction of viewers in that thread rather than here.

But this has drawn too long now. I won’t push further.

Do whatever you see fit. We’ll just adapt to your “circumstances” and ‘presence’ either way.

… Never have I seen such a severe case of ‘sourgrapes’ as apparent as this one :expressionless:

Haven’t had time to play a lot with it.
Slightly surprised that it comes only with Raspbian is ClockworkOS still in the works or only for A04 and A06 series?

The form factor is a lot a fun, but might need to adjust the settings of the mouse ball thingy. And the height of some fixed windows in Raspbian is an issue with the screen height.
