Any plan to make the LTE card working too, out of the box?
By the way hands off the Dragon you made seems to be the best/handiest OS so far on the Console! Love it!
There is a package in the my apt repo for the 4g scripts. I don’t have one myself to verify everything works, but other have been using it with success.
Thank you, but I just added the kernel and necessary stuff to get it working on the uConsole. Being based off Ubuntu there are some problem like the CM5 not working right.
I’m making a new “DragonOS” but built off Debian for better support.
I’ve also been packaging all the software I have to compile for it so others can install single apps if they just want to use base Debian Bookworm. DragonOS had all the software compiled on the system running with a user already created and just backed up for download. I’m doing it the “right way” that way it’ll be a clean image with the first boot wizard still intact.
Is it the one here? ClockworkPi-apt/bookworm/pool/main/u/uconsole-4g/uconsole-4g_0.21_arm64.deb at main · ak-rex/ClockworkPi-apt · GitHub
yes, but you can also sudo apt install uconsole-4g
to install it.
Right, I have it installed now. Got some errors encountered while processing flash-kernel, but I’ll start from here.
Thanks!
So just to report back, the 4g modem seems to be alive, I just have to deal with some SIM PIN, that flash-kernel has nothing to do with it.
Probably disabling PIN sill allow me to go on.
Thanks again!
You know you can count me in on test images.
A little tease…
Awesome can’t wait. New SD card ordered and awaiting release.
I tried finding some info on “FreqOS”
It doesn’t exist (or my google fu needs some serious upgrades )
Now I’m really excited to find out what you crammed into it!
Hi, Rex I’m more than willing to help test! Unfortunately I’m only a couple of months into my journey with Linux and not very tech savvy, however I’m retired with lots of free time give me a shout if I fulfill the remit
Dragonos was the only radio focused distro I know of. FreqOS just had a good ring to it. Like dragonos is a spin of Ubuntu. FreqOS will be a spin of Debian focused on radios.
Have you heared of SIGpi?
It’s not a OS, but it has some very interesting programs that you can maybe add.
Hey Rex, there is another cool SDR distro based on the PI GitHub - luigifcruz/pisdr-image: 🥧 A SDR Linux Distro for the Raspberry Pi and other SBC. Compatible out of the box with multiple SDR.. This supports multiple SDR and it has a bunch radio software. By the way, I’m running successfully your Kali Linux image, works out of the box. I’m happy to test the new images.
@E.M
I’ll check it out
@knightr1d3r007
I haven’t seen that one before I’ll have to check it out. I’ve already spent a few days working on this so I’m going to finish and release it. It’ll be easier to maintain too.
Here’s the first test version of FreqOS, it’s built on top of Debian so everything basic should just work. Check out the radio software and let me know of any configs to add or change. There’s about 30 radio apps already installed and I still have about 30 pieces of software to compile and package for the OS but I want to start getting some feed back. Check it out and let me know your thoughts!
Downloading now!
Thank you Rex, this is awesome!
I’ll report back.
First of all:
Thank you very much for doing this!!
This is really awesome and basically foolproof!
I love it sofar!

XGPSpeed : Also doesn’t “do” anything..
I’m not sure if there are any programs installed that have to run from the terminal? There is no mention of any..
I’m missing Meshtastic, tar1090 and PyGPSClient, but i’m sure you are working on it
Looking forward to how this developes!
If you want me to test something, let me know!
There are some cli apps too. I didn’t include and of the apps in my hackergadgets package except SDR++ Brown. I’ll still be adding some of them except meshtastic.
Thanks for checking it out, I’ll take a look into the gps apps.
Dare I suggest you call it RexOS!!!
