Fixed my uConsole after a year of owning

So, when I received my uConsole last year I immediately noticed that my battery life was very poor. At first I blamed the cheap Panasonics I order for a ~10€ a piece but swapping to a more expensive XTARs that were reported with solid over 4 hours use — that didn’t fix the issue. So for a year my console was collecting dust in a top shelf box.

But after reading cloclworkpi forums recently I noticed people reported faulty battery units and most importantly misaligned power pins.

Long story short – my uConsole was working from a single cell, the second one wasn’t reaching the motherboard unless I press and hold the battery unit with my finger. So the fix was to stick a pressed down cooking foil ball wrapped in an electrical tape, not to short anything on the motherboard.

And voila! I get 5+ hours of playing Shadowrun now

Now I feel like taking it on a vacation and trying some projects I had in mind for a long time!

Your battery tray is not inserted properly. Check out this post to how it should look and how it should be done..

Indeed! I happily got rid of my ugly “fix”. Just had to push them harder in a bit :upside_down_face: .

Thank you!
