Game Shell D-Pad = Emulate mouse?

Hey!

I was curious if I were to get a game running on the gameshell that requires a hardware mouse on the OS present, is it possible to run a script or something to have the D-Pad act as a mouse x/y axis control? Then have like a button bound to clicking.

Kind of like this of sorts:
setxkbmap -option keypad:pointerkeys
