Can you see the AC1200 wifi card under lsusb?
NVMe works with both CM4 and CM5,but for CM5 you get dobule the PCIe speed.
Thanks for clarification. I feel better now. ![]()
Got mine, but weird things are afoot. Install went fine, red light turns on, booted to sd card bookworm. Edited eeprom to BOOT_ORDER=0x16f as I’d like it to try the sd card first, then the nvme drive. I flashed the 256gb nvme drive with the Rex Bookworm.
Boot up brings nothing if I take out the sd card. And now, with the sd card back in, it won’t boot either.
Where did I go wrong on this? Appreciate all advice! I figure I’ll want to nerd out on this later this afternoon.

You borked the boot order. It’s read from right the left, so as soon as it boots up it just repeats the boot process. It should be
BOOT_ORDER=0xf61
That would boot NVME then USB then repeat.
I’ll have to check later if I can see it under lsusb.but I noticed when I was still using the CM4 transferring things, it kept coming back with there being dpkg errors. It was associated with tmrx? I think is what it was. Something associated with the dependencies for SDR’s. That’s what it was identifying, and I’d assume that’s coming with the AIO Package…? It’s spitting the same errors here if I remember right. Something with dpkg…
Well, crap. That’s what I get for using ChatGPT. I take my lumps lile a dummy should.
Question: how the heck can I fix this?
Thanks for your response and explanation. Really appreciated.
You can possibly flash the bootloader recovery from RPi imager. Try connecting the hackergadgets board to a computer to flash the cm5 with it.
Thank you, though I cannot fit any usb cables in thattight space between the flash port and batteries. ![]()
You should be able to flash it with the adapter board out of the uConsole. If not just remove the battery tray.
Oddly, after plugging it in, I cannot see it in pi imager on linux or Mac. But it’s definitely getting hot to the touch. Any thoughts? I have the HG card out of the uC.
Should I try AstrolixiOS?
Order #5172 / #5462
Hi Vileer,
I purchased the AIO V2 kit (Order #5172) and I understand that there will be a delay with this order. However, I also have another order for the uConsole Upgrade Kit – NVMe / RJ45 / USB 3.0 (Order #5462).
If both orders are planned to ship together, they will both be delayed due to the AIO V2 issue.
Would it be possible to ship the upgrade kit (Order #5462) separately so it’s not affected by the delay?
Thanks in advance!
Update: restored the eeprom, modified it with your instructions in the topic on Bookworm image. Phew.
However, I can’t seem to boot from the nvme when I take the sd card out. Just infinite darkness… like my soul. Did I miss something along the way?
I guess I shouldn’t be frustrated as thisnis why I bought this device. But, man, I’m getting tired of cracking that thing back open!
What exactly did you put for the eeprom. The bookworm one might be outdated. There’s a eeprom post I did that has all the updated info. Also you should use Trixie instead of bookworm so you’re running the newest Debian.
I went to your MEGA Dropbox and saw the bookworm img and noticed it was the same build I had downloaded.
This is what I put in the eeprom config:
[all]
BOOT_UART=1
# Switch off PMIC outputs on HALT
POWER_OFF_ON_HALT=1
# Default BOOT_ORDER for provisioning
# SD -> NVMe -> USB -> Network
BOOT_ORDER=0xf461
# Try boot on SDCard repeatly
SD_BOOT_MAX_RETRIES=2
# Slow down SDCard SDR Mode on bootloader
SD_QUIRKS=1
May I please have the latest greatest. It’s like an easter egg hunt with the way this forum works.
Much appreciated! Good stuff!
Thats all correct. Make sure you are running the latest image to make sure pcie isn’t disabled and that there is a red light on the nvme board.
Finally got it going. So fast! Now to find the thread with the instructions for setting up the Hacker Gadgets AIO board, that you so generously provided and I apparently can’t be assed to properly bookmark!
Thanks much!
Edit: am I wrong in thinking that the last Bookworm image I had was provisioned with all the RTLSDR, Lora, GPS stuff? Seems this latest doesn’t have it.
Not automatically you need to install it after you have the card in or you will get errors.
I keep seeing references to the antenna bracket now having 7 connections due in part to accommodate the AC1200’s two WiFi antennas and two Bluetooth antennas but in the pictures I’ve seen it looks like there’s only 2 ufl connectors on the chip itself. Is there some splitting going on, more connectors on the back, or something else I might be missing here?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, and a big thank you to Vileer for his work on these products! Can’t wait to get mine.
