Disregard. I don’t know what I’m doing.
If you have a light version of CM you don’t need an IO board because there is nothing to flash. Just use the imager to write the image to the SD Card and plug it in and off we go.
The problem with the CM5 lite in the uconsole is that it won’t recognize most SD cards by default so you need to edit the EEPROM to get full compatibility. You can buy one that’s known to work but some find it easier to boot on an io board to do the changes.
Rex, I’m lucky in that regard. My SD card (and now my SSD) boots flawlessly. However, what are the changes you have to make to EEPROM if that’s not the case?
Thanks for the valuable information. I have 2 uConsole and considered replacing one CM4 with a CM5. I have an IO board for the CM4 but none for the CM5
The CM5 will work in the CM4 IO board but the CM4 will not work in the CM5 IO board.
Thank you very much again. Best regards Friedrich
So bad advice? Gotcha.
Sorry, everyone. I won’t bother again.
