Is it possible to install and run Minecraft Pi Edition?

Hey all! Question’s in the title. I’m surprised no one else has asked, although maybe that indicates it’s a dumb one. :joy:

For those unfamiliar, link here: https://minecraft.net/en-us/edition/pi/

I did attempt to follow normal installation instructions, but I hit an error:
./minecraft-pi: error while loading shared libraries: libbcm_host.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I could go ahead and try to hunt down the dependencies, but I figured I’d ask here in case anyone has already tried this. Thanks!

Hi Nintendrew,

Really unlikely at the moment, well ok maybe not, but not in the current state.

They manage to make it somewhat run on the CHIP, but without a proper GPU driver that would not be possible to get it running at playable speed.

Love your channel nintendrew!!!

But I have to say, can’t wait to see it running

And better, as some people (with proper GPU driver too though) the Java version seems to be playable on the Raspberry Pi 3… who knows…
