Hi everyone. I’m having some issues with MGBA on my Gameshell and I’m new to emulation in general so I’m not entirely sure what’s up or how to fix it. I basically have two problems, firstly there’s no sound over my ROMs. The only ROMs I have installed are Pokemon Silver and Crystal and in both cases the games run absolutely fine but there’s no sound of any kind. Also whenever I use the B button to pause the emulation it locks in place and I have to quit out and relaunch the game to unpause. I also don’t seem to be able to bring up an emulator menu regardless of what button combo I try, though I’m not sure if this is a problem or just how the emulator works. Any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks!
os v0.5?
do you have gpsp on your gameshell?
Yes it’s v0.5, and yes I have gpsp as well
A little suggestion:
use gpsp for a try
and also you can try this in ssh of gameshell
cd ~/apps/emulators
wget https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/linux/armv7-neon-hf/latest/mgba_libretro.so.zip
unzip mgba_libretro.so.zip
to use a new mgba retroarch core
mgba requires a gba_bios.bin in ~/apps/emulators
or ~/apps/emulators/bios
I don’t remember the exact directory path
I thought that gpsp couldn’t play gbc games but I’ll give it a go, thanks!
here is an old topic for the gbc
