Modify Pico8 scaling?

I recently got a gameshell and while I quite like it, I was wondering if there is a way to change the way pico8 gets scaled up to the screen resolution off 320 x 240. Because as it is, the pixels get crunched quite a bit and it’s not pixel perfect. does anyone know anything about this?

Hello! Welcome to the forums. I’m guessing it’s to do with how SDL handles the scaling. Have a look here:

That could be a good start, possibly trying to identify how to change how SDL handles the scaling, or possibly even using a different video driver. Any other suggestions or discussion seem to be in the thread above.

Another thought. There is recent development on the Retroarch front to run pico-8. No idea how that would work, but I’m guessing in a similar fashion to using commercial Bios images with cores. That would at least open up the ability to choose video drivers and enable/disable filters and shaders.

Thank you, I’ll check that out!
