How do you get the uConsole speakers to turn off when plugging in a wired headset? Is that meant to “just work”? If it doesn’t, would that indicate a hardware issue or a software issue?

probably software
you can disable manually by using pavucontrol or this package CM5 speaker static got you down?

What os image are you using? Can you disable the speakers manually?
