I am about to order a PicoCalc but would like to know first what the current delivery time is to the US?
Thanks,
Gary
No one knows for sure, however people who ordered on the 12th of March have been receiving them for about a week now. People who ordered on the 13th started to receive shipping notifications in the last couple of days.
That’s good to know. Thanks!
Ordered Mon, Mar 17, 11:55 AM local time (Pacific) and still haven’t received any notifications, so they don’t have a 1:1 ratio of days-to-fulfillment. I know there’s a certain someone obsessed with something and that’s making international trade difficult right now, so I hope that doesn’t complicate this.
I think it is probably more of how Clockworkpi works as a business than it is about international trade policy. Certainly trade policy is going increase the price when the tariff payment comes due, but the hold up is more likely that Clockworkpi only had stock for one or maybe two thousand kits and they burned through those in the first three days of availability. Now I suspect we are waiting for them to restock. Keep in mind, this is purely speculation on my part.
Order 3450x 14th March, nothing yet but Clockwork quoted 30 days as per the website when questioned a week ago so we’ll see… Some think there might now be a delay due to the screen issue or stock.
Order #3447x from March 14th, received on April 8th in Europe, had to pay 19€ taxes at the border.
Order #344xx placed on Mar 14th to east coast US, no email yet. Looks like first batch closed around March 13/14 and already delivered. Second batch starting March 14 (like my order) still in the process
30 “business” days means easily 40 calendar days
There’s still more complexity being added to this thanks to [politics redacted.] I have been getting messages from a number of companies reducing, delaying, or cancelling availability for US consumers. The most recent from CableMod, who added this summary:
Why This is Happening
On April 2, 2025, the U.S. government announced the elimination of the de minimis exemption for goods imported from China and Hong Kong. Previously, this exemption allowed packages valued at or under $800 to enter the U.S. duty-free. Effective May 2, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. EDT, all such shipments will now be subject to applicable duties and taxes.
or in the case of DevTerm … Pluto days…
but I still got my unit!!!
oh great… shipping was pretty steep to the states wonder if that kept up with tariffs hope this all blows over soon - I got solar stuff to do..
I ordered my picocalc in October and I’m still waiting for it to be delivered. I’m starting to doubt I will receive it… I’m in France.
Be strong and have faith.
Faith is the right word. I would prefer transparency and information. Because if time is not an issue, total absence of feedback is.
from what already has been surmised elsewhere,
clockworkpi does not keep any stock. every single purchase is a preorder, a waitlist into the next production batch. “out of stock” (for example devterm) means no longer in production and never will be.
that means the wait time is for there to be enough people in a batch for clockworkpi to justify a production run. you are waiting for there to be enough preorders until yours is produced with all the others, and only once it exists it can be shipped to you.
yes the lack of transparency is bad and i think it’s by choice.
for what it’s worth my picocalc order took around 3 months payment to delivery. that time will vary on demand, holidays, etc
addendum: there is, as far as anyone knows, only one official retailer for clockworkpi products, rpishop.cz. they seem to ship anywhere in Europe, so unfortunately USA is out of luck. since they’re a retailer, they DO hold stock unlike the manufacturer, and people have reported receiving from there in about two weeks.
do not feed the AliExpress scalpers.
I understand what you are saying, and I agree 100%. Clockworkpi is not a big company, and they absolutely indicate on their website that shipment will take time. But a feedback once in a while explaining the situation would not hurt. I don’t see why their lack of transparency would be by choice. Anyway, I’m not mad, just impatient ![]()
In my opinion, the problem – and I’m not referring to you (!) – is that many customers enquire before the notified waiting period has expired. That would annoy me as a seller.
But perhaps clockwork could communicate the waiting period more clearly. For example, they could write in the order confirmation email that delivery will take place at the earliest at date X (calculated from the order date) and that customers should refrain from enquiring before then. This would give the customer better guidance.
BTW: I’m also waiting for my devices… ![]()
The website states, under Shipping Information, that it is an express service, and delivery will take approximately 60 days based on current factors. That’s two months. I’m not sure anybody has gotten theirs that quickly, it’s usually 3 months+.
Since their business practice has not changed, it’s safe to assume that’s how it’s going to be. You either wait, spend stupid money on eBay or take a chance on AE. Frustrating, however there really aren’t any alternatives, so here we are…
I was just about to correct you that it’s 60 business days, but I confirmed it myself beforehand. You’re right: PicoCalc actually says “60 days,” while uConsole says “90 business days”. I could have sworn that the unit for both devices was business days.
I wonder if the difference is intentional. Or does PicoCalc also mean working days and it was written incorrectly? Who knows. And it doesn’t change the outcome of the longer wait anyway…
