If this is just hooking directly onto the CM4, then maybe we should try this one specifically made for it? I’m not above drilling into the case to make a mount for the SMA connector, once I actually get my hands on it. This appears to be what @Pardalcv did.
That’s just a generic rp-sma wifi antenna.
I picked up the standard external raspberry pi antenna. Then, I modded the expansion port plate (I don’t have the 4G module) and the speaker PCB to allow for installing the antenna securely. Drilling the expansion port ended up with minor paint removal on it.
The antenna completely fixed my connection issues. I haven’t had any drops and the range is as good or better than my cellphone.
Glad i didnt get the mobile 4G module now
did you set it with epoxy?
Should I reduce the corners (Red) or it is flush enough to not bother?
I see the internal round part it is off, the radius should be bigger (Green).
Top side (Red) is a little bit high (~0.3mm), and the radius of the rounded corners (Green) is a little too small. maybe a r=2mm rounded corner is good?
A top shot with a black one is attached so you can get about a general idea.
Radius has been updated, the height I was not expecting, will do an update tomorrow addressing it. This is like 1mm or 0.5mm off on the height, or less than that?
It’s actually about 0.3mm, since I took the picture at an angle, it looks like it’s off more than measuring with calipers.
Damn they look hella fine
Thanks so much @hsavior!
Just printed v1.2 and it works great!.
I would love a version of this that also had enough spacing to still fit this: 3D printed cover for the uConsole
I will try to do something, maybe a remix of that one you pointed out. I am also working with another project, not sure how I would attach it to the uConsole, but it might be more comfortable than the blackberry trackball:
This is LOGITECH T-SBC12-CPQ 2 Button Optical Track Ball that will be driven using an Arduino Leonardo.
It would be easy to modify the cover and reprint it.
