Recently I accidently damaged the screen of my DevTerm A06 when I was carrying it in my backpack, and after that the right 1/3 of the screen is completely unusable. Is there some spec of the screen used so I can find a replacement part?
It will (probably) show the screen upside down so you will need to find a software solution to flip the display
Sorry for reviving this thread. I tried 2 different 480*1280 IPS screens with MIPI interfaces but none of they works (one is having color stripes, and the other is completely blank with only the back light on). Is there ways I can check for compatibility besides getting the exact same screen model?
Not guaranteed to work, but:
-
Ask the dealer to provide sample code, and cross-compare with
drivers/gpu/drm/panel-cwd686.c
(ours) and other panel drivers. -
Ask the dealer to provide more information. What’s the display driver IC used? Do they provide datasheet pdf files? etc.
This one matches the part # of the display I believe Can’t vouch for it tho.
by a DevTerm Risc CPU model and scavenge the parts - that’s my plan…
Reviving this thread because I foolishly threw mine into the backpack without a protective cover and the inevitable happened.
I contacted the supplier of this particular display, and unfortunately the pinout does not match.’
Bummer, since it’s the only listing on alibaba using the right driver IC.
Anyone had any luck sourcing a display since the last post?
I think the fastest way is to go with MHam68HC11’s plan and ordering the R01 DevTerm.
DevTerm or Uconsole? I put my DevTerm in a sandwitch cooler bag before I put it in my backpack … I’ll do the same for the Uconsole … but spare parts are a bummer once the production run is over especially on such a special batch of hardware…
DevTerm or Uconsole?
DevTerm specifically.
but spare parts are a bummer once the production run is over especially on such a special batch of hardware…
Yeah, that’s why I’m okay with ordering another one.
But hey, that means that I have spares for other parts.
good point - I’ve purchased a R-01 for the Uconsole but a R-01 for the DevTerm could be used as a spare parts machine… good advice… the R-01’s are fairly cheep - I’ve printed the Operational Shield for the devTerm but had to take it off - i’ts a tight fit and needs to be sanded - it slightly deforms the polystyrene shell and my keyboard and mouse quit working…
